Safe in Del Rio

Welcome to the first entry from our trip to Mexico ending in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, and beginning here in Del Rio at Erin and Nino's house. We arrived in record time yesterday from Albuquerque at around 5:45 and got settled in. Today, Erin, Leslie, Marissa, and I all took a little trip into Ciudad Acuña. (They only live 15 minutes from the border!) This is part of our "ease into it" strategy. We participated in several societal exercises, such as finding a parking spot, going to an ATM, feeding the meter, having lunch in a restaurant, and getting information about cell phones.
